Nalongo Nansamba Visits Cultural Sites in Mubende, Engages Traditional Healers on Unity and Cultural Preservation
Mubende, Uganda — The President of traditional healers in Uganda under Obuwangwa Ne Ennono Kuntiko Mu Uganda Ltd, Nalongo Nansamba, has successfully conducted a strategic visit to Mubende, where she engaged cultural leaders and traditional healers in a bid to strengthen unity, promote ethical practices, and preserve Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.
During the visit, Nalongo Nansamba toured key cultural and historical sites, emphasizing their importance as custodians of Uganda’s identity, spirituality, and traditions. She highlighted the need to protect these sites for future generations while promoting respect for indigenous knowledge.
“Our culture is our identity. If we do not protect it, we risk losing the very foundation of who we are as a people,” Nalongo Nansamba stated.
A major highlight of the visit was her interaction with traditional healers in the region. She encouraged them to work together, uphold professionalism, and eliminate harmful practices that tarnish the image of traditional medicine.
“We must stand united as traditional healers and ensure that our practices bring healing, hope, and dignity to our communities—not fear or harm,” she emphasized.
Nalongo Nansamba also addressed the growing concern of individuals misrepresenting traditional healing for personal gain, calling for accountability and cooperation in identifying such cases.
“Those who misuse our traditions must be held accountable. True traditional healing is about خدمة the community, not exploiting it,” she added.
In alignment with national development goals, she urged traditional healers to actively support government programs, particularly in public health initiatives such as HIV/AIDS and TB sensitization.
“Traditional healers are trusted by the people. When we are well-informed and united, we can play a powerful role in fighting diseases and improving community health,” Nalongo Nansamba noted.
She further stressed the importance of passing on indigenous knowledge to younger generations, encouraging mentorship and cultural education to ensure continuity.
“We must teach our children our traditions, our medicines, and our values so that our heritage does not fade away,” she said.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from traditional healers in Mubende to work collaboratively under a unified framework that promotes integrity, cultural pride, and national development.
